While some people find it very easy to come up with design ideas for Low Hanging System, sometimes others need a little more inspiration.
So today, I figured I’d share one way that I know people get success: the media.
While I historically don’t love the news, if you’re using it for design ideas (and ideally not using media garbage to instill fear!) I’ll pass it. :)
See, no matter which news source(s) you prefer, you can use the daily headlines as a means of gathering design inspiration for new products.
Below, I show you two videos of me scrolling through the daily headlines of two different news sources: BuzzFeed and GoodNewsNetwork. (For the purposes of this post, I chose two lighthearted news sources without strong political ties as I wanted this post to be bipartisan and neutral. You can use whatever news sources you want but keep your mental health in mind).
Then, I selected a few of the headlines that stood out to me and brainstormed design ideas based on the headlines’ content.
Riffing on the daily headlines of your favorite news sources is something you can do anytime you need some fresh design ideas for your store. It’s quick and easy, and you can come up with some really great ideas.
That said, let’s get into it…

An Athlete Has Mastered The Sport Of Extreme Pogo – Watch His Incredible Stunts
Design ideas
People love designs related to sports. But people enjoy a lot more types of sports than you might think. It’s not just the biggies, like football, baseball, basketball, hockey, et cetera. People also enjoy less-talked-about sports, like extreme pogo, archery, pickleball, and fencing to name a few. And you can create designs pertaining to these sports as well.
Some examples of lesser-known or “weird” sports including the following:
- Kabaddi
- Chess boxing
- Unicycle hockey
- Redneck games
- Wife carrying
- Extreme ironing
- Sheep counting
- Ferret legging
The great thing about focusing on lesser-known sports is you have less competition. Of course, you’ll likely also have fewer people searching for these types of designs, but those people who are searching will be eager to buy. And since they’ll have fewer options to choose from, they’ll be more likely to buy from you.
